ADEA's current member services platform is now offline for the transition to a new platform, launching later in November. Thank you for your patience as we improve your membership experience.

Enhanced member experiences coming soon: temporary pause on login and registration

6 November 2024—We are currently performing a system migration to a new member services and learning management platform to enhance your experience.

As part of this upgrade, both login and registration features are temporarily unavailable—this includes the summation or completion of applications for credentialling.

During this downtime, you will not be able to log in or create new accounts on the current platform.

You will also temporarily be unable to complete recredentialling or submit initial credentialling applications.

The new system is expected to be operational later in November, at which time all services will resume.

Important notice for members due for recredentialling: If your recredentialling is due during this period, please be assured that you will not be penalised for the delay.

Extensions will be provided as needed, ensuring your credentialling status remains unaffected until the new system is live. No further action is required from you.

We understand this brief pause may be an adjustment, but it is a vital step to ensure that your information is securely transferred to the new platform.

We’ll notify you as soon as the new platform is live, ready to offer you a more seamless membership experience with improved features designed to support your professional journey.

Frequently asked questions

What does the new platform mean for me if I’m currently on the credentialling pathway to become a CDE?

You have the option to continue under the current pathway via a legacy approach or transition to the new Credentialling Pathway, which will be supported by the new platform.

This flexibility allows you to choose the option that best aligns with your progress and preferences.

The current pathway will be available until 31 October 2025.

After this date, members will no longer have the option to use the current pathway.

Why choose the new pathway?

What we need from you
To ensure a smooth transition, please follow these steps based on your decision:

How will the platform upgrade affect me if my recredentialling is due?

If your credentialling is due for renewal during this transition to the new platform, there is no need to contact ADEA.

Your credential status will remain active, and you will continue to be registered with the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS).

You may continue working in your current capacity without any disruption.

What should I do if I need to update my member profile or contact details during the transition?

During the temporary pause, you won’t be able to update your member profile.

Once the new platform is live, you’ll be able to manage and update your profile directly.

How will the platform upgrade impact access to the ADEA Learning Management System (LMS) and ongoing courses, including microcredentials?

Our LMS is temporarily paused as we transition to an improved LMS as part of the new platform.

Members who were enrolled in a microcredential or any other LMS course before the pause were kindly asked to complete their courses before the transition.

If you wish to enrol in a course, you will need to wait until the new platform launches to begin.

This flexibility allows you to choose the option that best aligns with your progress and preferences.

The current pathway will be available until 31 October 2025.

After this date, members will no longer have the option to use the current pathway.

Why choose the new pathway?

  • Practical clinical skills assessment: Replaces the logbook and referee report with a direct observational assessment, case-based assignment, and submission of practice hours with reflective practice.
  • Flexible education: The new pathway’s Professional Practice Microcredential replaces the need to upload CPD hours by helping you set goals based on your scope of practice and develop a CPD plan tailored to your career needs.
  • Enhanced mentoring: Provides comprehensive support and structured, goal-oriented mentoring and access to valuable resources.
  • Revised practical experience requirement: Reduces the practical hours from 1,000 hours to 500 hours, which focuses on high-quality diabetes education and practical clinical skills.
  • Modern member services platform: Offers a streamlined credentialling process with new tools and resources to support your journey to becoming a CDE.

Important points to keep in mind if you opt to stay on the current pathway

  • Manual submission and assessment: The new member services platform will not support the current pathway, meaning all applications will be processed manually, outside the system.
  • Extended assessment time: Due to the manual nature of the process, assessment times will extend beyond the current 4–6-week estimate.

What we need from you
To ensure a smooth transition, please follow these steps based on your decision:

  • Confirm your pathway: If you choose to remain on the current credentialling pathway, please complete our form (click here) as soon as possible. ADEA will provide further details about the next steps after your confirmation. If you plan to switch to the new pathway, more information will also be provided in upcoming member communications.
  • Help us spread the word: If you know other members going through credentialling, please share this information with them so they can respond.
