The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is pleased to present the Diabetes Education Network for Health Professionals (D-NET).

D-NET is the first international forum aimed at enhancing diabetes education and management around the globe. It is a place for health professionals to connect, find support, share best practices, and discover learning opportunities. International Diabetes Federation – International Curriculum for Diabetes Health Professional Education 2008

The IDF Curriculum is designed to meet the needs of local health professionals, institutions and organizations. It can be adapted to suit local contexts.

It was originally developed in response to the need for health professionals to have specialized, evidenced-based training in diabetes education. A comprehensive curriculum is fundamental to the education of well prepared and clinically effective diabetes educators.

IDF Diabetes Education Modules

The Diabetes Education Modules (2011) contain more than 800 slides and detailed speaker notes to reflect the objectives contained in the International Curriculum for Health Professionals Education. Health professionals anywhere in the world can adopt this resource to develop diabetes education programmes for other health professionals.

The consistent, evidence-based research and information provided in these materials are designed to help educators gain recognition for their training and assure governments and education organisations that the education programmes they offer are of a high standard.

Online India Diabetes Educator E-Learning Course (IDEEL)

The Hope Foundation of India has created a web-based training program for allied health professionals, so that they can give patients the help they need. IDEEL graduates will use the knowledge gained to teach the people in their communities how to manage their own diabetes.

The IDEEL video introduces you to the innovative and interactive course with the latest updates in the diabetes field with important cultural adaptations that equip the Diabetes Educator with the knowledge and skills to be able to provide excellent patient support and education to ensure healthier lives.
