My name is Simran and I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), Accredited Nutritionist (AN) and Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE). I graduated from University of Sydney with Honours in 2005 and I honestly love what I do. I am passionate about healthy eating and making eating well simple and delicious. My aim is to provide you with personalised advice which you can adapt to your daily lifestyle. I’m also a busy mother of three young children. Raising a young family and 15 years of experience working in a busy Sydney metropolitan public hospital has inspired me to start a little boutique clinic in Sydney’s Hills District – “My Specialist Dietitian”. The main force behind My Specialist Dietitian is a deep desire to help individuals achieve their long-term diet and nutritional goals. I believe that everyone’s health matters and by equipping you with sound knowledge and the right advice I aim to help make healthy eating easy by providing you with tips and tricks to incorporate good nutrition into your busy lifestyle. Each client is individually assessed and then provided with a well-researched, personalised and comprehensive meal plan. My focus is to understand your lifestyle, your eating behaviour and your existing food knowledge and to then provide you with tailored education and guidance you understand the world of nutrition and healthy eating. I have a strong subspecialty interest and expertise in Diabetes. I have undertaken formal tertiary level postgraduate training leading to my current dual qualified status as a Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE). This allows me to work closely with my endocrinologist and GP colleagues to provide comprehensive, tailored medical nutrition therapy to patients with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including those who are insulin requiring or on an insulin pump, aiming to promote the best possible short and long-term outcomes for my patients. |
