How I can help: I will teach you about diabetes, what it is, the potential risks and complications, how to manage and prevent them I can answer any questions you may have along the way I will help you monitor and manage your blood glucose levels. I can also advise and support you to make lifestyle changes. I can explain how to use medications, including insulin therapy. I will include practical demonstrations and will show you how and when to inject insulin. I will partner and work closely with your GP, endocrinologist, physiotherapist, podiatrist, dietician, exercise physiologist, and/or any other health professionals in your diabetes health care team so that you receive the most effective support and the most holistic care possible. I will help you access subsidised products (e.g insulin needles, test strips, CGM transmitters and sensors) and services you may need to manage your diabetes through the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) I will provide you with motivation, guidance and support to help you set and work towards your health goals. About me I am a wife and mother of two young children and a furball ruby Cavalier puppy. I was born in Sydney and have grown up on the Gold Coast for the last 32 years. I have studied a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science and Master of Pharmacy at Griffith University Gold Coast. After registering as a pharmacist in 2013, I worked in several community pharmacies across Brisbane and Gold Coast. I then went on to complete post-graduate studies in Diabetes Education and Management with the University of Technology Sydney in 2018 and was awarded the title of Credentialed Diabetes Educator by the Australia Diabetes Educators Association in 2022. I also completed my accreditation with the Australian College of Consultant Pharmacy in 2022 which enables me to provide bulk billed Home Medication Reviews to all medicare card and DVA card holders in the comfort of their own home. Diabetes is close to my heart as several of my loved ones including my own father are affected by this condition. I am passionate about my work and continually strive to keep learning, growing and challenging myself so that my clients receive the best care possible. Private consultations without this referral will be billed at $80 for a 30 minute appointment or $150 for one hour.
