My background is Nursing and Midwifery. I have worked many years (over 20) in a variety of health settings including urban, rural and remote, both public and private.   I enjoy providing support and education to women living with diabetes.  My special interest and expertise is around Diabetes + Pregnancy.  Women planning a  pregnancy, during the pregnancy or/and post childbirth.  This includes women living with diabetes experiencing fertility challenges and or undergoing bariatric surgery prior to planning a pregnancy.  I hope that everyone living with diabetes has the opportunity to connect with a Credentialled Diabetes Educator through their Medical specialists, to fully understand the importance of perinatal planning and ongoing diabetes education and to experience the value of multi-professional, holistic and person centred perinatal diabetes care.
