Time Topic Presenter
7.00-7.05pm Welcome and Housekeeping Georgia Green and Edwin Pascoe, Webinar Hosts
7.05-8.00pm Exercise and type 1 diabetes: making it easier to love!
It is common for people with type 1 diabetes to have a love-hate relationship with exercise. Whatever your clients’ exercise goal (e.g., weight management, improved fitness or better sports performance) including exercise in the management mix introduces a whole new level of complexity for individuals with T1D, their carers and healthcare professionals.
Allan Bolton, Accredited Exercise Physiologist & Sports Scientist
8.00-8.10pm BREAK
8.10-8.40pm Immune Kamikaze – Podcasting about Diabetes
Whilst exercise and type 1 diabetes can take time to make them work together, it’s well worth the effort perseverance. My presentation will focus on illustrating how type 1 diabetes and exercise can coexist and demonstrate diabetes isn’t a barrier to success.
Darcy Hughes, person with type 1 diabetes
8.40-8.55pm Exercise for people with Diabetes in the LGBTI+ Community Edwin Pascoe, RN, CDE
8.55-9.00pm Close Georgia Green and Edwin Pascoe, Webinar Hosts
